Genetic evidence for selective transport of opsin and arrestin by kinesin-II in mammalian photoreceptors
Article Abstract:
Results show that removal of a subunit of the kinesin-II leads to an accumulation of opsin, arrestin, and photoreceptor inner segment membranes culminating in photoreceptor cell death.

Kinesin-dependent axonal transport is mediated by the sunday driver (SYD) protein
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that sunday driver protein transports the axonal transport kinesin driven vesicles by interacting with the kinesin light chain. Data reveal that sunday driver protein is localized to tubulovesicular structures and forms complex with kinesin-1 in in vivo.

Receptor tyrosine phosphatases are required for motor axon guidance in the Drosophila embryo
Article Abstract:
The receptor tyrosine phosphatases DPTP69D and DPTP99A were studied in motor axons of Drosophila embryos. Motor neuron growth cones of embryos without DPTP69D did not reach maturity before reaching muscle destinations or did not reach their targets at all. Mutants which lacked both DPTP69D and DPTP99A were more impaired. Findings indicated that DPTP69D and DPTP99A are essential for motor axon guidance.
