Structural basis for the inhibition of caspase-3 by XIAP
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the apoptosis regulation by caspase inhibition. The molecular mechanism of the apoptosis regulation and the crystal structure of the second baculoviral inhibitor of apoptosis protein repeat (BIR) domain of the XIAP (BIR2) in complex with the caspase-3 have been investigated and the results are reported.

Structural basis for the autoinhibition of c-Abl tyrosine kinase
Article Abstract:
The mechanism of autoinhibition of the Abelson leukemia tyrosine kinase c-Abl involves binding of the N-terminal myristoyl modified c-Abl 1b to the kinase domain and causing conformational changes that results in the docking of the SH2 and SH3 domain onto c-Abl. The catalytic activity of Abl is inhibited by this conformational change and binding of the anti-cancer drug STI-571.
