Hagfish (Cyclostomata, Vertebrata): searching for the ancestral developmental plan of vertebrates
Article Abstract:
A study of the histology and expressions of genes involved in the neural crest in the embryology of the shallow-water-dwelling hagfish, Eptatretus burgeri is described. It is inferred that the delaminating neural crest is a vertebrate synapomorphy which is likely to have been present from the start of their evolutionary history even before separating from the hagfish family.

Hagfish embryos again-the end of a long drought
Article Abstract:
The paper examines the histological preparations of hagfish embryos and cellular delamination from dorsolateral regions. It is found that the percentage of fertile eggs is very low and the embryos take an agonizingly long time to develop.

Which way does the Wnt blow? Exploring the duality of canonical Wnt signaling on cellular aging
Article Abstract:
A synopsis of analysis significant to Wnt signaling and aging is presented, to resolve the paradox regarding the influence of Wnt signaling on increasing or delaying age-related deficits.
