Gene targeting in gram-negative bacteria by use of a mobile group II intron ("targetron") expressed from a broad-host-range vector
Article Abstract:
Mobile group II introns ("targetrons") expressed through an m-toluic acid-inducible promoter from a broad-host-range vector containing an RK2 minireplicon is used for efficient gene targeting in a variety of gram-negative bacteria. This broad-host-range system for targetron expression might facilitate gene targeting in a wide range of bacteria.

Synthetic consolidants attacked by Melanin-producing fungi: Case study of the biodeterioration of Milan (Italy) cathedral marble treated with Acrylics
Article Abstract:
The presence of biodegradable synthetic resins in the marble samples of Milan cathedral in Italy was detected by the growth of dematiaceous fungi. These fungal species are associated with melanin production in the acrylic coated stone surfaces.
