Heterogeneity of Y chromosome markers among Brazilian Amerindians
Article Abstract:
Heterogeneity was found in a study of frequency of Y chromosome markers in 59 Brazilian natives from 5 tribes. Four haplotypes were found, one at average 0.65 frequency, followed by one at 0.22 frequency. The haplotypes were seen in five other Brazilian tribes. Most were seen in native populations of North, South, and Central America. Variability at the DYS19 microsatellite is likely from forward or back mutations from the putative ancestral 186-bp allele. The mutation rate of the locus is high. The post-Columbian admixture of the Brazilian tribes studied is very low or not detectable for explanation of the data. East Asia is the putative location of origin for the tribes.

Mitochondrial population genomics supports a single pre-Clovis origin with a coastal route for the peopling of the Americas
Article Abstract:
The Bayesian coalescent method is employed to study the complete mitochondrial genomics of different populations of Americas. The results prove the existence of a pre-Clovis occupation along Pacific coastal route origin in their peopling.
