Identification, characterization, and in situ detection of a fruit-body-specific hydrophobin of Pleurotus ostreatus
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze a fruit-body-specific hydrophobin of Pleurotus ostratus. Total RNA was determined by a hot phenol process while cDNA from total fruit body mRNA was determined by a reverse transcriptase reaction. The pattern of expression of the fbh1 gene was analyzed by in situ detection of the mRNA coding for Fbh1 by hybridization. Results indicated that the proteins supported an eight-cysteine pattern similar to the lipid transfer plant proteins.

Diffusional properties of methanogenic granular sludge: (super 1)H NMR characterization
Article Abstract:
The diffusive properties of anaerobic methanogenic and sulfidogenic aggregates present in wastewater treatment bioreactors were studied using diffusion analysis by relaxation time-separated pulsed-field gradient nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and NMR imaging. NMR spectroscopy measurements were performed at 22 degree Celsius with 10 ml of granular sludge at a magnetic field strength of 0.5 T.
