Impaired maternal behaviour in mice lacking norepinephrine and epinephrine
Article Abstract:
Norepinephrine (NE) is a central nervous system (CNS) class neurotransmitter. Its role, and that of epinephrine, in behaviour, has been investigated by targeted disruption of the dopamine beta-hydroxylase (Dbh) gene. Results indicate that NE has a role in long-lasting changes that promote maternal behaviour during development and parturition in mice.

A distinct role for Norepinephrine in memory retrieval
Article Abstract:
Norepinephrine plays a major role in memory retrieval, when signaled through the beta1-adrenergic receptor in the hippocampus. The results of study on the above can be used in treatment of cardiac failure and neuropsychiatric disorders.

Signals from the sympathetic nervous system regulate hematopoietic stem cell egress from bone marrow
Article Abstract:
Hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPC), attracted by the chemokine CXCL12, reside in specific niches in the bone marrow (BM). It is demonstrated that enforced HSPC egress from BM niches depends critically on the nervous system.
