Muscle stem cells in development, regeneration, and disease
Article Abstract:
Studies that focus on the origin, gene expression, and coordinated regulation of stem cell populations to highlight the regenerative capacity of skeletal muscle and emphasize the challenges for this field are examined. Understanding of the stem cell biology and repair mechanisms will be enhanced, providing a platform for therapeutic applications directed toward the chronic, life-threatening diseases.

WUSCHEL is a primary target for transcriptional regulation by SPLAYED in dynamic control of stem cell fate in Arabidopsis
Article Abstract:
WUSCHEL (WUS) was identified as a biologically important target of the SNF2-class ATPase SPLAYED (SYD) in the shoot apical meristem of Arabidopsis by using genetic and molecular analysis. Further evidence was provided that SYD is recruited to the WUS promoter and that it is involved in regulation of the stem cell pool maintenance through direct transcriptional control of this master regulator.

WUSCHEL induces shoot stem cell activity and developmental plasticity in the root meristem
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to find whether WUSCHEL (WUS) expression in the root induced shoot stem cell identity and leaf as well as floral development. The findings indicate that WUS establishes stem cells with intrinsic shoot identity and responsive developmental inputs that normally do not change root identity.
