Interaction between Oct3/4 and Cdx2 determines trophectoderm differentiation
Article Abstract:
Trophectoderm (TE) is the first differentiated cell lineage to arise in mammalian embryogenesis, and this forms the placenta a structure that is unique to mammal development. Trophectoderm induced by Oct3/4 repression is a suggestion that reciprocal inhibition factors might be involved in the first differentiation event of mammal development.

Open conformation chromatin and pluripotency
Article Abstract:
An important characteristic of embryonic stem (ES) cells is pluripotency, which is the ability of a cell to give rise to all of the cells of an organism. Transcription factor networks and epigenetic processes play vital roles in the maintenance of ES cell pluripotency.

The battlefield of pluripotency
Article Abstract:
A discussion on how embryonic stem cells maintain the potential to differentiate into multiple cell lineages is presented. It is revealed that the vulnerability of lineage potential to transcriptional perturbation might reflect an essential feature of pluripotency.
