Involvement of a transformylase enzyme in siderophore synthesis in Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Article Abstract:
A transformylase enzyme and its involvement in siderophore synthesis have been investigated in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Characterization of the pvdF gene, required for synthesis of the siderophore pyoverdine by P. aeruginosea strain PAO1, has been carried out. Understanding of the enzymology of pyroverdine synthesis has been enhanced. This is apparently the first example of involvement of a GART-type enzyme in synthesis of a secondary metabolite.

Molecular characterization and expression analysis of the dextransucrase DsrD of Leuconostoc mesenteroides Lcc4 in homologous and heterologous Lactococcus lactis cultures
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on gene encoding Leuconostoc mesenteroides Lcc4 dextransucrase DsrD. The authors describe the isolation of this gene via the use of PCR, and demonstrate that dextransucrase can be expressed and secreted in a heterologous host and drive dextrin synthesis.
