Isolation of Mycobacterium paratuberculosis from milk by immunomagnetic separation
Article Abstract:
The development, optimization and assessment of an immunomagnetic separation (IMS) procedure to speed up the isolation of Mycobacterium paratuberculosis from milk samples were conducted. The isolation method took less than 1 h which is much less than the 5 h it takes for HPC decontamination performed before culturing. The value of the IMS model lies in the fact that it can be utilized for the rapid detection of M. paratuberculosis in milk.

UV light inactivation of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis in milk as assessed by FASTPlaque Tb phage assay and culture
Article Abstract:
The phenomenon of FASTPlaque Tb phage assay and culture is employed for the assessment of the UV light inactivation of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis in whole and semiskin milk. Despite of the extremely low plaque counts, the UV inactivation rates derived during the assessment are found to be very much similar.
