Killed cultures of Escherichia coli can protect living organisms from acid stress
Article Abstract:
Research reveals that killed cultures of Escherichia coli induce acid tolerance in living organisms through an extracellular induction component. Data indicate that the induction component is formed by an extracellular sensing component which in turn is activated by mild acidity.

Teichoic acids in bacterial coaggregation
Article Abstract:
This article discusses the role of teichoic acids in the intergeneric and intrageneric bacterial coaggregation. Results show that lipoteichoic acid or wall teichoic acid mediate bacterial coaggregation possess alanine ester residues and are associated with divalent calcium.

Absence of translationally selected synonymous codon usage bias in Helicobacter pylori
Article Abstract:
Research demonstrates that in Helicobacter pylori, absence of a synonymous codon leads to lack of competitive exponential growth. Data indicate that absence of the codon is not due to any mutational selection process.
