Former AmpliMed CEO Rob Ashley has described the differences in his weekend hobby on the racetrack and his career in the pharmaceutical industry. Rob and his colleague built a successful company, developing and commercializing Periostat (doxycycline), the first oral systemic drug for periodontitis and later on he joined AmpliMed as the CEO in 2004.

The author explains the lack of adequate funding and proper research in most of the global health projects that ultimately led to their failure. He says that in addition to the development of better technologies, proper research and implementation of these methods are also equally important to improve the health conditions of the country.
