Maturation of fast and slow motor units during synapse elimination in the rabbit soleus muscles
Article Abstract:
Examination of the maturation of motor units types during postnatal synapse elimination in the rabbit soleus muscles reveals that the twitch/tetanus ratio for slow motor units decreases and increases for the fast motor units. The conflict in the twitch and tetanic yield estimates of polyinnervation was removed by intracellular recordings of endplate potentials. The fast and slow muscles are polyinnervated identically during the initial and middle stages of synapse elimination.

Kinetics of the inhibition of axonal defasciculation and arborization mediated by carbohydrate markers in the embryonic leech
Article Abstract:
Fab antibody fragments against a mannose-containing antigen on developing axons in embryonic leech can inhibit axonal defasciculation and arborization and this process follows first-order kinetics. This indicates that the developing axons extend independently of each other.
