Metabolic engineering of Escherichia coli for enhanced production of succinic acid, based on genome comparison and in silico gene knockout simulation
Article Abstract:
Comparative analysis of the central metabolic pathways of Mannheimia succiniciproducens and Escherichia coli are carried out to select important metabolic pathways with respect to the formation of fermentation products like succinic acid. The results show that the comparative genome analysis combined with the silico metabolic analysis is an efficient way of developing strategies for strain improvement.

Development and application of an assay for uranyl complexation by fungal metabolites, including siderophores
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on fungal metabolites. The ability of these metabolites to complex actinides has been investigated via the use of the assay based on the chrome azurol S assay for siderophores.
