Methodological issues in the anthropometric assessment of Hmong children in the United States
Article Abstract:
The effectiveness of the body mass index in assessing overweight/obesity might be diminished in populations of short stature like Hmong refugee children in the US. Anthropometric indices are described as one of the best methods to assess child health at the population level, and are used to determine rates of malnutrition in the form of stunting, wasting and underweight.

Genetic structure of circumpolar populations: A synthesis
Article Abstract:
The research on the genetic structure of circumpolar populations of Alaska, Siberia and the Aleutian Archipelago is presented. Circumpolar populations have offered an opportunity to investigate the effects of small population size, genetic isolation and the model of isolation-by-distance on the distribution of genes.
