Mitochondrial DNA polymorphism in populations of Siberian and European roe deer (Capreolus pygargus and C. capreolus)
Article Abstract:
Mitochondrial DNA polymorphism can be seen in populations of Siberian and European roe deer (Capreolus pygargus and C. capreolus). Nucleotides of the mtDNA control-region in 45 Siberian and European roe deer from two areas in Russia and seven in Italy numbering 679 have been amplified and sequenced. It appears the deer speciated about 2-3 mil years ago with haplotype diversity within species generated in the most recent 150,000-370,000 years.

Chromosomal segregation and fertility in Robertsonian chromosomal heterozygotes of the house musk shrew (Suncus murinus, Insectivora, Soricidae)
Article Abstract:
Understanding chromosomal variation and evolution in mammals is dependent on detailed study of chromosomal heterozygotes. Study of chromosomal segregation and infertility coming from chromosomes is needed. Segregation and fertility have been studied in Robertsonian chromosomal heterozygotes of the house musk shrew. Genetic background had more effect on litter size than Rb heterozygosity.
