New tool for metabolic pathway engineering in Escherichia coli: One-step method to modulate expression of chromosomal genes
Article Abstract:
A library of Escherichia coli clones that express a particular chromosomal gene at a wide range of expression levels is produced developing a simple and highly efficient method. The aim was to replace all or part of the upstream of a coding sequence containing the elements involved in its expression with a PCR-generated library of expression cassettes.

Facilitation of expression and purification of an antimicrobial peptide by fusion with baculoviral polyhedrin in Escherichia coli
Article Abstract:
The use of baculoviral polyhedrin (Polh) protein as a novel fusion partner for the production of a model antimicrobial peptide (AMP) in Escherichia coli is investigated. Results demonstrate that baculoviral Polh can provide an efficient and facile platform for the production or functional study of target AMPs.

Random insertion of a TetR-inducing peptide tag into Escherichia coli proteins allows analysis of protein levels by induction of reporter gene expression
Article Abstract:
An insertion element named InsTipalpha was constructed to generate protein expression data. It is demonstrated that this element could be used to study the expression characteristics of proteins in five such fusion mutants.
