Oncogenes and senescence: Breaking down in the fast lane
Article Abstract:
Robust tumor suppressive processes have evolved in multicellular organisms to recognize and counteract the malignant potential of individual cells harboring deregulated oncogenes that prevent tumor development by directing cells with appropriate proliferative signals towards distinct terminal sites. A new insight into the oncogenic signals that engage the mechanism of such processes is presented.

LMO T-cell translocation oncogenes typify genes activated by chromosomal translocations that alter transcription and developmental processes
Article Abstract:
LMO T-cell translocation oncogenes are typical of genes activated by chromosomal translocations that change development and transcription events. In tumors, especially the hematopoietic ones, cytogenetic study shows reciprocal chromosomal translocations happen often. Certain chromosomal translocations turn up consistently in certain subtypes of tumors.

Activated oncogenes promote and cooperate with chromosomal instability for neoplastic transformation
Article Abstract:
Oncogene-induced chromosomal instability and transformation was attenuated by antioxidants. The data indicate that chromosomal instability could be a catalyst for oncogenic transformation, and brings together aspects of the chromosomal instability hypothesis and the gene mutation hypothesis for tumorigenesis.
