Ontologies for data and knowledge sharing in biology: Plant ROS signaling as a case study
Article Abstract:
Ontologies have proven to be one of the most-useful means of constructing and formalizing expert knowledge with the key feature to represent a computer interpretable model of a particular subject area. The importance of ontologies for systems biology, data integration and information analyses are illustrated through the example of reactive oxygen species (ROS) signaling networks in plants.

The ins and outs of lysophosphatidic acid signaling
Article Abstract:
Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) is generated from precursors by 'autotaxin', a once enigmatic exo-phosphodiesterase implicated in tumor cell motility, while exogenous phospholipases D can also produce Progress in the understanding of LPA bioactivity, signaling and synthesis is revie

The Cnidarian and the canon: the role of Wnt/beta-catenin signaling in the evolution of metazoan embryos.
Article Abstract:
The setting up of the oral-aboral axis and the specification of entoderm in cnidarians is discussed. The comparison between bilaterians and members of the radiata with respect to the mechanisms of axial specification and germ-layer segregation are described.
