Reassessing the molecular biology of sperm-egg recognition with mouse genetics
Article Abstract:
A re-evaluation of the molecular basis of sperm-egg interactions in mammals is discussed. Research indicates that sperms without a hyaluronidase or acrosin, a proteolytic enzyme, are fertile. Furthermore, sperms that lack ADAM proteins cannot bind to the zona pellucida. Mouse models are presented.

Divided loyalties: Transdetermination and the genetics of tissue regeneration
Article Abstract:
A study on the transdetermination can serve as a model for mechanisms of stem-cell commitment was conducted. The data provided suggests that pluripotency of cells within regenerating tissues is constrained by homeotic products.
