Optimizing DNA yield from the buccal swabs in the elderly: attempts to promote buccal cell growth in culture
Article Abstract:
Explanation regarding participation in genetic studies that is limited by a volunteer's reluctance to donate blood samples is presented. In order to maximize the recovery of DNA from buccal swabs a protocol was generated where it was found that buccal swabs work well for the collection of DNA, especially nonclinic-based volunteers.

Proportion of homosexual men who owe their sexual orientation to fraternal birth order: an estimate based on two national probability samples
Article Abstract:
The proportion of homosexual men who can attribute their sexual orientation to their birth order among their brothers was estimated on the basis of population attributable fraction (PAF). The results showed that such a proportion of homosexual men constituted a minority but not a negligible minority.
