Pathogen recognition and innate immunity
Article Abstract:
The mechanisms of pathogen recognition by the innate immune system are reviewed, focusing on host Pattern-Recogniton Receptors (PRRs) and their signaling pathways. There is considerable expansion in the knowledge of host innate immune responses against pathogen infection and these involve sophisticated mechanisms for detecting various pathogens using limited number of PRRs and induction of adaptive responses.
