A quantitative trait locus for oleic fatty acid content on Sus scrofa chromosome 7
Article Abstract:
A partial genome scan was conducted, using microsatellite markers, to detect quantitative trait loci (QTL) for ten fatty acid contents of backfat on fifteen chromosomes in a porcine resource population. Two QTLs were discovered on Sus scrofa chromosome, SSC4 and SSC7. A novelty of the QTL for oleic acid was suggested because the QTL was located far from any other QTLs previously mapped for fatness traits.

Fine-scale spatial genetic structure within continuous and fragmented populations of Trillium camschatcense
Article Abstract:
The spatial genetic structure (SGS) within continuous and fragmented populations was analyzed for the long-lived understory perennial herb Trillium camschatcense using allozyme loci. Such comparative analysis between populations and life-history stages can be useful to understand the different underlying causes of SGS.
