Inactivation of Mycobacterium paratuberculosis by pulsed electric fields
Article Abstract:
Treating milk samples with 2,500 pulses of a 30 kV electric field per centimeter at 50 degrees C. can inactivate Mycobacterium paratuberculosis. This bacterium causes Johne's disease in animals and may be linked to Crohn's disease in humans.

Putative virulence factor expression by clinical and food isolates of Bacillus spp. after growth in reconstituted infant milk formulae
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the food and clinical isolates of Bacillus species. The ability of these isolates to adhere to, invade and produce a cytotoxic effect in human epithelial cells after growth in baby foods and the role of the nutritional compositions of the products have been examined.

Prediction of toxigenic fungal growth in buildings by using a novel modelling system
Article Abstract:
Research is conducted on the effect of temperature and humidity on the growth of the indoor toxigenic fungi Eurotium herbariorum, Aspergillus vercicolor and Stachibotrys chartarum. Results include development of a system to predict fungal growth for the built environment.
