Quinolobactin, a new siderophore of a Pseudomonas fluorescens ATCC 17400, the production of which is repressed by the cognate pyoverdine
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that quinolobactin is a 75-kilo dalton iron-repressed outer membrane protein (siderophore) which facilitates iron-uptake in Pseudomonas fluorescens. Data further show that the iron-uptake process is repressed by the cognate pyoverdine.

Identification of type II and type III pyoverdine receptors from Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Pseudomonas aeruginosa type II and type III pyoverdine receptors. Results demonstrate that these receptors possess N-terminal extension of amino acids.

Use of siderophores to type pseudomonads: the three Pseudomonas aeruginosa pyoverdine systems
Article Abstract:
The pyoverdine-mediated iron incorporation system in Pseudomonas aeruginosa was studied using varied techniques such as pyoverdine isoelectrofocusing analysis, pyoverdine-mediated growth stimulation, immunoblot detection of (ferri)pyoverdine outer-membrane receptor and pyoverdine-facilitated iron uptake. A total of 88 isolates were characterized and it was found that groups 1 and 2 siderophore type-strains were equally common, each contributing 42% of the total. The remaining isolates were found to be of the Pa6 type.
