RAPDs and allozymes exhibit similar levels of diversity and differentiation among populations and races of Douglas-fir
Article Abstract:
Randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers and allozymes show levels of diversity and differentiation that are similar in Douglas-fir populations and races. Levels of inherent diversity may be substantially higher, although hidden, in RAPD markers. Simulations show estimates of differentiation among populations using RAPDs likely would not be significantly biased given the studied population sizes. To compare levels of diversity and differentiation in Douglas-fir populations and races, 36 nuclear-encoded RAPD loci and 10 allozyme loci were studied.

Comparison of population genetic structures of common wild rice (Orya rufipogon Griff.), as revealed by analyses of quantitative traits, allozymes and RFLPs
Article Abstract:
The genetic diversity was investigated among and within natural populations of Asian common wild rice, Oryza rufipogon, from three different classes of data that are quantitative traits, allozymes, and Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphisms (RFLPs). The results reflected the occurrence of adaptive differentiation in response to habitat conditions by quantitative trait analysis and the effect of isolation by distance by allozyme and RFLP analyses.

Article Abstract:
Allozyme variation in Transcaucasian populations of Aegilops squarrosa, a diploid, self-pollinating goatgrass species which contributed the D genome to common wheat, are discussed. The role of allozymes in the process of speciation was one goal of this study, and intraspecific differentiation of the species and genetic structure in its populations were studied as well.
