Rb interacts with histone deacetylase to repress transcription
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to study retinoblastoma protein's (Rb) relationship with histone deacetylase to suppress transcription factors at the promoter. The calcium phosphate method was utilized to culture and transfect cells. Results indicated that Rb can repress transcription through two mechanisms. They also showed that most of the promoters and transcription factors were not dependent upon histone deacetylase activity for repression by Rb.

Somatic hypermutation, transcription, and DNA mismatch repair
Article Abstract:
Various properties of somatic hypermutation have already been unearthed through scientific investigation. In addition, components of basal transcriptional apparatus have already been studied. Since the mutational process starts just downstream of the promoter, it has been argued that the initiation of the transcription carries out error-prone repair in areas wherein RNA polymerase pauses.

TFIIH transcription factor, a target for the Rift Valley hemorrhagic fever virus
Article Abstract:
The Rift Valley hemorrhagic fever virus (RVFV) is the agent that causes fatal hemorrhagic fever in humans and acute hepatitis in ruminants by targeting the TFIIH transcription factor cellular concentration and decreasing it. The observation provides an insight into the mechanism used by RVFV to evade the host response.
