Reeler/disabled-like disruption of neuronal migration in knockout mice lacking the VLDL receptor and ApoE receptor 2
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the interaction of mammalian Disabled, a cytosolic protein that activates tyrosine kinases, with the cytoplasmic tails of the very low density lipoprotein receptor and apolipoprotein E receptor 2. Novel signaling functions for the low density lipoprotein receptor gene family were examined. Results indicated that both receptors are needed for cortical layering, cerebellar foliation and the migration of Purkinje cells.

The transcriptional coactivator CAMTA2 stimulates cardiac growth by opposing class II histone deacetylases
Article Abstract:
A eukaryotic expression screen was performed for activators of the atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) gene, a cardiac-specific marker of hypertrophic signaling, in order to discover regulators of cardiac hypertrophy. It was discovered that a family of transcriptional coactivators, CAMTAs, promotes cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and activates the ANF gene by associating in cardiac homeodomain protein Nkx2-5.

Stem cells and their derivatives can bypass the requirement of myocardin for smooth muscle gene expression
Article Abstract:
Research shows that for certain smooth muscle lineages, myocardin-independent mechanisms can be sufficient for expression. Studies were conducted on mutant embryonic stem cell lines.
