Selection of Pseudomonas sp. strain HBP1 Prp for metabolism of 2-propylphenol and elucidation of the degradative pathway
Article Abstract:
The confirmation of the metabolism and the pathway involved in the degradation of Pseudomonas sp. strain HBP1 Prp is discussed. Bacterial srains were chemically prepared and subjected to high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry UV-VIs spectroscopy and protein determination. High metabolite degradation activity was demonstrated.

Differential degradation of nonylphenol isomers by Sphingomonas xenophaga Bayram
Article Abstract:
The isolation of an Sphingomonas xenophaga Bayram strain that efficiently degrades 4-(1-ethyl-1,4-dimethylpentyl)phenol is reported. The degradation experiments with five different 4-nonylphenol isomers have indicated that degradability is strongly dependent on the structure of the alkyl substituent.
