Losing ground?
Article Abstract:
Researchers and administrators fear that in 2006's political climate with challenges on the rise the small gains that were made in minority representation in science, technology, engineering and math are under threat. A number of reverse-discrimination lawsuits, which were filed against 'pipeline programs designed to increase participation minorities in the sciences are construed as the reasons behind this threat.

Socrates 2.0: Can bioethics be taught on the Internet?
Article Abstract:
Google, Nature and the O'Reilly Group sponsored an event, which focused on teaching ethics on the Internet by developing a program called "masters.biotech.org", built around new technologies. The pilot program would offer library of relevant interviews with professionals from science and medicine about real cases and sustain a level of dialogue that would be more than a match for the session around physical table.
