Spectrum of the reductive dehalogenation activity of Desulfitobacterium frappieri PCP-1
Article Abstract:
Ortho- and para-dechlorinating activities in Desulfitobacterium frappieri PCP-1 were stimulated by various chlorophenols. Dehalogenation rates were found to vary from 25 to 1,158 nmol/min/mg of cell protein. Findings showed that D. frappieri PCP-1 can dehalogenate at the ortho, meta and para positions a broad range of aromatic compounds with substituted hydroxyl, methoxy or amino groups. This substrate specificity is unlike those found for D. tiedferi and for other strains of the Desulfitobacterium genus.

Purification, cloning, and sequencing of a 3,5-dichlorophenol reductive dehalogenase from Desulfitobacterium frappieri PCP-1
Article Abstract:
The purification and characterization of a reductive dehalogenase that catalyzes the meta and para dechlorination of several chlorophenols and the isolation of the corresponding gene is reported. It was seen that Desulfitobacterium frappieri PCP-1 was the first CprA-type reductive dehalogenase that can dechlorinate chlorophenols at the meta and para positions.

Impact of temperature in the physiological status of a potential bioremediation inoculant, arthrobacter chlorophenolicus A6
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to examine the effects of temperature on the physiological status of Arthrobacter chlorophenolicus A6 in pure culture and soil. The findings make A. chlorophenolicus A6 a good candidate for the treatment of chlorophenol-contaminated soil in cold climates.
