Statistical approaches for estimating actinobacterial diversity in marine sediments
Article Abstract:
Actinobacterium-specific 16S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) data are grouped into operational taxonomic unit (OTU) with greater than or equal to 99% 16S rDNA sequence similarity and OTUs are subjected to the diversity statistics to evaluate how the dominance, species richness, and genetic diversity varied with marine sediment depth. Data show that the diversity pattern shifts toward dominance from uniformity as the sediment depth increases.

Diversity of nitrile hydratase and amidase enzyme genes in Rhodococcus erythropolis recovered from geographically distinct habitats
Article Abstract:
Phylogenetic and and amino acid sequence analyses of the nitrile hydratase and amidase genes from geographically disparate Rhodococcus erythropolis indicate that the enzymes share similar genetic background, suggesting coevolution of the two enzymes. However, data suggest that the genes of the two enzymes are not globally mixed.

Nitrile hydratase and amidase from Rhodococcus rhodochrous hydrolyze acrylic fibers and granular polyacrylonitriles
Article Abstract:
Nitrile-degrading enzymes from Rhodococcus rhodochrous can be used to modify PAN fibers. Enzymatic hydrolysis of acrylic fibers could replace chemical processing, which sometimes causes irreversible yellowing of the fabric.
