Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the PapG, the adhesin at the tip of the P pilus which mediates the uropathogenic Escherichia coli attachment to the human kidney uroepithelium. The crystal structures of the PapG receptor binding domain's binary complex bound to the globoside have been investigated and the results are reported.

LRP6 holds the key to the entry of anthrax toxin

Article Abstract:

A demonstration that the low-density lipoprotein receptor related protein 6 (LRP6) promotes endocytosis of the anthrax toxin into cells is presented. LRP6 acts as a coreceptor with either ATR/tumor endothelial marker 8 (TEM8) or capillary morphogenesis protein 2 (CMG2), the identified receptors for anthrax toxin.

A "dock, lock, and latch" structural model for a staphylococcal adhesin binding to fibrinogen

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on cell wall-anchored staphylococcal adhesin which binds to human fibrinogen. The authors have investigated the crystal structures of adhesin's ligand binding region, and they report that adhesin binds to its ligand via the "dock, lock, and latch" mechanism.
