Structure of a heterophilic adhesion complex between the human CD2 and CD58 (LFA-3) counterreceptors
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the crystal structure of the heterophilic adhesion complex between the amino-terminal domains of human CD2 and CD58. Results indicated an asymmetric, orthogonal, face-to-face interaction involving the major beta sheets of the respective immunoglobulin-like domains. Findings also showed that charged amino acid side chains form hydrogen bonds and salt links at the interface during the virtual absence of hydrophobic forces.

Mechanisms contributing to cell receptor signaling and assembly revealed by the solution structure of an ectodomain fragment of the CD3epsilongamma heterodimer
Article Abstract:
Solution structure of a heterodimeric CD3epsilongamma ectodomain complex, an integral component of the T cell receptor (TCR) and pre-TCR, reveals that TCR-based signal transduction is facilitated by an hydrophobic interphase between the two C2-set immunoglobulin-like domains and parallel pairing of the C-terminal beta-strands of the complex.

A novel peptide recognition mode revealed by the X-ray structure of a core U2AF(sup)35/U2AF(sup)65 heterodimer
Article Abstract:
Crystal structure of the human core U2 auxiliary factor heterodimer reveals an RNA recognition motif on the central domain and a polyproline segment that interact through tryptophan residues. Data indicate that the core U2 auxiliary factor heterodimer binds RNA.
