Surface attachment of Listeria monocytogenes is induced by sublethal concentrations of alcohol at low temperatures
Article Abstract:
The influence of sublethal concentrations of alcohol on the surface attachment of Listeria monocytogenes at various temperatures, the role of possible regulators, and strain variation in the response is investigated. The results suggest that alcohol may contribute to persistence of Listeria monocytogenes.

Factors influencing the ability of Listeria monocytogenes to pass through a membrane filter by active infiltration
Article Abstract:
The smallest pore size through which Listeria monocytogenes could pass, the time required for the pass-through, and other influencing factors are examined. Flagellar motility and expansive pressure generated by the growing bacterial population are indicated as the driving forces of infiltration.

Development of a synthetic minimal medium for Listeria monocytogenes
Article Abstract:
A defined solid and liquid minimal medium, Hsiang-Ning Tsai medium (HTM), which continued methionine and cysteine as the sole amino acids, was developed for Listeria monocytogenes. Complex broth-grown Listeria monocytogenes had to adapt to HTM by including amino biosynthesis.
