The inbreeding effective population number in dioecious populations
Article Abstract:
Theoretical studies enable the derivation of an expression for the inbreeding effective population numbers of autosomal and X-linked loci with discrete, nonoverlapping generations. Two case studies facilitate the analysis and comparison of the recursion relations for the effective population numbers and the probabilities of genic identity. Various types of models of panmixia and monogamy are studied using a newly developed symmetry framework, which helps reduce the number of parameters.

Some effects of selection when there is partial full-sib mating
Article Abstract:
Theoretical studies enable the derivation of an expression for the change in the frequency of an allele between different generations. This expression takes into consideration the effects of various selection processes including partial full-sib mating, mating of adult survivors and viability between zygote formation and adulthood. Results of this expression agree with the survival probability of a rare allele in a larger population.
