The invasion and coexistence of competing Wolbachia strains
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on coexistence of different Wolbachia strains in neighboring populations. The authors have investigated the hypothesis whether this coexistence is also possible in a spatial context, and they report that continuous-time models for the Wolbachia strains' behavior show the allele effect and founder control, and that discretised spatial models demonstrate patchy persistence of the strains suggesting that habitat rather than space leads to persistence.

Genetic mapping of sex-linked markers in Salix viminalis L
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on sex determination in several families of Salix viminalis L. The authors suggest that a single locus governs sex determination, and that nonrecombining sex chromosomes are absent in S. viminalis.
