The neurohormone orexin stimulates hypoxia-inducible factor-1 activity
Article Abstract:
Genomics techniques have revealed that orexin activates the hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIF-1), a heterodimeric transcription factor whose pathogenic role is stimulating angiogenesis in hypoxic tumors. Results implicated that HIF-1 is an important transcription factor in the hormone-mediated regulation of hunger and wakefulness.

The role of the proteasomal ATPases and activator monoubiquitylation in regulating Ga14 binding to promoters
Article Abstract:
The discovery of a new nonproteolytic activity of the proteasomal ATPases is reported. The resistance offered by the monoubiquitylated activator to the 'stripping activity of the proteasome like proteasomal ATPases may partly explain why some activators require such modification in order to function efficiently.

The Isy1p component of the nineteen complex interacts with the ATPase Prp16p to regulate the fidelity of pre-mRNA splicing
Article Abstract:
Isy1p is a subunit of the nineTeen Complex containing Prp19p, an essential E3 ubiquitin ligase homolog required for splicing. A study is conducted to propose that deletion of Isy1 favors the premature release of Prp16p, thus promoting second-step chemistry of precursors with inappropriate 3'-splice sites.
