The strength of selection on ultraconserved elements in the human genome
Article Abstract:
The magnitude of selection consistent with the maintenance of ultraconserved elements were estimated by analyzing the distribution of polymorphisms within these elements. The strength of selection associated with ultraconserved elements suggests that mutations in these regions might have subtle phenotypic consequences that are not easily detected in the laboratory.

Enriching the analysis of genomewide association studies with hierarchical modeling
Article Abstract:
The article describes the new approach for selecting the most-promising single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that incorporates into the hierarchical model giving conventional results and other existing information about SNPs.
