Toxin-antitoxin pairs in bacteria: killers or stress regulators?
Article Abstract:
The authors discuss their research on plasmid toxin-antitoxin systems which kill daughter cells. The topics of interest include the ability of Escherichia coli toxin to cleave mRNA in the ribosomal A site in order to make it function as stress regulator during amino acid starvation.

Evidence for a pioneer round of mRNA translation: mRNAs subject to nonsense-mediated decay in mammalian cells are bound by CBP80 and CBP20
Article Abstract:
Messenger RNA elimination occurs through nonsense-mediated decay in association with the nuclear cap binding protein, CBP80. Results show that CBP80-bound mRNA undergoes a round of translation before CBP80-CBP20 are rplaced by the cytoplasmic counterpart of CBP80, elF4E.

Computational modeling and experimental analysis of nonsense-mediated decay in yeast
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on nonsense-mediated decay, a conserved mRNA surveillance system. The authors describe the model developed to investigate nonsense-mediated decay process, and demonstrate that nonsense-containing transcripts can be recognized.
