Tracking host sources of Cryptosporidium spp. in raw water for improved health risk assessment
Article Abstract:
Tracking host sources of Cryptosporidium species in raw water in the South nation watershed in Ontario, Canada was done for improved health risk assessment. The molecular composition of the Cryptosporidium parasites and general land use analysis indicated that mature cattle were likely the main source of contamination of the watershed.

Longitudinal study of microbial diversity and seasonality in the Mexico City metropolitan area water supply system
Article Abstract:
A longitudinal study was conducted in the Mexico City metropolitan area to provide an overview of the quality of the groundwater. The study showed that the groundwater distribution system is susceptible to contamination and that there is a need for a strict, year-round disinfection strategy to ensure adequate drinking water quality

Multivariate logistic regression for predicting total culturable virus presence at the intake of a potable-water treatment plant: Novel application of the atypical coliform/total coliform ratio
Article Abstract:
The results of a multilayer study of raw-water quality at the inlet of a potable-water plant that related 17 physical, chemical and biological indices to the presence of enteric viruses are described. The results indicated the atypical ratio/total coliform [AC/TC] ratio.
