Transmission distortion at a minisatellite locus in the harlequin beetle riding pseudoscorpion
Article Abstract:
Single-locus DNA profiling has been used to examine patterns of allelic inheritance at the hypervariable cCscMS13 minisatellite locus on Cordylochernes scorpioides, a pseudoscorpion. There was one case of extreme transmission distortion among 17 dames and 26 sires, with 17 of a male's 18 offspring inheriting his lower molecular weight allele. Meiotic drive seems to be the most plausible explanation for transmission distortion, but further research is required to establish beyond doubt the mechanism involved in biased allelic inheritance in this pseudoscorpion.

The Development of a High-Density Canine Microarray
Article Abstract:
The microarray represents multiple-tissue transcripts, drawing from genetic databanks. When compared, 74% of the sequences for canines matched a sequence for humans.
