Use of a disposable water filter for prevention of false-positive results due to nontuberculosis mycobacteria in a clinical laboratory performing routine acid-fast staining for tuberculosis
Article Abstract:
A study to evaluate point of use 0.2 [mu]m water filter for elimination of nontuberculosis mycobacteria (NTM) in laboratory water and reduction of false-positive results for the acid fast staining procedure is presented. Results conclude that use of disposable point of use of water will remove NTM from laboratory water and thereby minimize false positive results for tuberculosis diagnosis.

Preliminary evidence that American bullfrogs (rana catesbeiana) are suitable hosts for Escherichia coli O157:H7
Article Abstract:
Study is conducted on Rana catesheiana tadpoles (n=23) and metamorphs (n=24) to test their suitability as hosts for Escherichia coli O157:H7. Findings of the study suggest that American bullfrog metamorphs are suitable hosts for Escherichia coli O157:H7.
