Research has been conducted on the microbial community structure. The technique that allows to extract cells from formalin-preserved salt marsh sediments is discussed.

Naphthalene and donor cell density influence field conjugation of naphthalene catabolism plasmids

Research has been conducted on the naphthalene-catabolic genes from the donor microorganisms. The use of groundwater microorganisms in demonstrating horizontal gene transfer in filter matings is discussed.
