Wintering Swainson's hawks in Argentina: food and age segregation
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the food habits of the Swainson's Hawk and on age segregation in populations of this species. Results revealed that Swainson's Hawk feeds almost exclusively on insects in the wintering range, mainly on migrant dragonfly swarms. A correlation was also found between the abundance of the dragonfly Aeshna bonariensis and the number of hawks in a given area. The hawks were found to follow the dragonflies as they migrated, foraging for them on the wing. Evidence was obtained indicating a segregation between juveniles and adults on wintering grounds.

Following of Brown Capuchin monkeys by White Hawks in French Guiana
Article Abstract:
White Hawks and brown capuchins live in sympatry over wide areas of South American. Boinski and Scott observed White Hawks occasionally following brown capuchins. In French Guiana White Hawks were frequently observed following brown capuchins, and it is proposed that the White Hawks follow brown capuchins in the forest to capture arboreal snakes disturbed by the monkeys.
