Wnt signaling: Is the party in the nucleus?
Article Abstract:
Cytosolic accumulation of beta-catenin in response to a Wnt signal is a crucial signaling event, but it is only an intermediate step in the transduction of the signal into the nucleus, to its ultimate destinations, the Wnt target genes. It is observed that many of the central cytosolic Wnt regulators including APC, Axin, Dsh, and the Wnt regulatory protein kinases also localize to the nucleus, where they may, directly or indirectly, interact with beta-catenin and modulate its transcriptional activity.

Coordination and communication between the p53 and IGF-1-aKT-TOR signal transduction pathways
Article Abstract:
A review of experiments that provides coordination and communication between p53-IGF-1-AKT-TOR pathways is presented. The results showed that these pathways regulate cell growth, proliferation and death that are central to our understanding and variety of physiological and pathological conditions, including cancer, diabetes and longevity.

Acetylation of Stat1 modulates NF-kappaB activity
Article Abstract:
The analysis of Stat1 mutants reveals Lys 410 and Lys 413 as acetylation sites. Experiments with Stat1 mutants mimicking either constitutively acetylated or non-acetylated states show that only acetylated Stat1 is able to interact with NF-kappaB p65.
