Charles Barnard, a former IBM middle manager, opened his first d.b.a. Socks stockings retail outlet in 1987. Barnard's holding firm, Foot Traffic, now owns and operated eight d.b.a. Socks stores in various shopping malls. Barnard plans to change the stores' names to Foot Traffic by Jan 1996.

Judi Sheppard Missett is the founder of Jazzercise, the physical fitness program which is now internationally franchised. She personally videotapes the new routines that go out to the 5,000 franchised instructors worldwide. Jazzercise had $15 million in revenue in 1994.
