Article Abstract:
The federal deficit for the month of April has been lower than what the estimations provided by the Office of Management and Budget and the Congressional Budget Office. The economic conditions outside United States has been weak, preventing the dollar from falling and thereby creating a wider current account deficit. The influence of capital spending, trade deficits and the world gross domestic product (GDP) on the United States economy is analyzed.

Article Abstract:
It is reported that the United States economy grew 2.8 % over the four quarters of 2002, corporate profits increased, consumer spending sees improvement, and the unemployment rate seems to have dropped to a near-average of 5.7%. In spite of the positive trends in the U.S. economic scenario, nervousness over a possible war with Iraq hits the total market conditions.

The forecast and trends in the gross domestic product (GDP), consumer spending, housing market, capital spending, trade and budget deficits, are analyzed. Despite the change in federal leadership, there is small likelihood of the policy being affected. A review of the fiscal budget 2006, is also presented.
