A market reform in itself
Article Abstract:
Australian stock markets in 1990's were considered risky because of high volatility in stock prices. Few investors would have invested in the country on long-term basis. However, the economic and market reforms during the last decade or so have changed this trend. Australian stocks now look more attractive to investors who would like to invest for long-term.

Good value, on average
Article Abstract:
The most-used approach to value a stockmarket is to compare the current level of the price/earnings (p/e) multiple with the 'normal' level of the p/e multiple. It is observed that in the period of low inflation, the p/e multiple has averaged 17.3, or about 2.5 percentage points higher than the current multiple.
